• If you plan to reuse your mask right away, place it in a clean paper bag so it will not contaminate other surfaces.
• The C.D.C. says fabric masks should be “washed routinely” - once a week.
• Launder the mask after use in your washing machine in hot water using soap or detergent that leaves no residue.
• Washing with soap and water should work. You can throw the cloth mask in the washing machine with the rest of the laundry and dry it on low heat at 60 Celsius (140 Fahrenheit). It is recommended to avoid bleach because we know that it can degrade fibers.
• Health recommendations suggest wearing the mask no more than 4 hours in a row.
• Masks should not be worn by children under 2 years of age.
